Is a supercharger too much for an Amuse Dual Ti?

I really wanted to buy an Amuse dual exhaust system. I was waiting for a friend of mine, who's buddy is going to Japan to pick one up one for the S along with a header. I would of probally got a nice price. Now I have to rethink the purchase of the Amuse. Can't believe the welds would just come apart like that. I hope It was just a defect or a part of your cat that ripped through it.

OMG people can we please read thoroughly before we jump to conclusions and knock a good product? Even Sideways agrees with my statement. It's not the fault of the exhaust that this happened. He doesn't have a NA car, he has FI and then some.

Agreed. Sideways' car is putting down way more power than a typical supercharged application. He's got way more heat/pressure going through this so it's no surprise that it's starting to fail.

The second one was 9200+ rpm in 5th, I was flying low.
Sideways, when did you get your pilot's license?

Should be around 145 with a 4.10 gear. Help me out Sideways, what's the final drive in your ride?

whatever gear is installed, I bet it made quite an impression when the weld broke.

Can't wait to see what exhaust you come up with.... I lost the tension pulley in 5th gear at 9200. never felt it leave...looked down saw no boost...only bolt in the whole vortech kit that wasn't hardened.

My neuspeed is going through some color changes too since I added the toda header and my hp is getting up a little closer to yours these days. I suppose one of these days my exhaust will need changing too.

This was welded up and held:

In addition there is something going on inside that is obvious from the outside:

The titanium is weakened and appears to have been altered. There is a new pin hole in the one spot.

Anyone with titanium experience that might venture a guess as to what is going on?

I am concerned about back pressure in the system. Notice the strange heating pattern:

Sideways,
Who repaired/welded the initial crack in the resonator?

Seems to me there is some type of chemical reaction forming on the top of the resonator where a pin-hole was forming.
The place who repaired the weld maybe didn't do something correct.
And welding Ti. is not easy.

Sideways, you could always check out Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) right there in HB. I used to live there and I went to RMR for all of my Evo stuff. I know they're Evo specialists, but they do TONS of fabrication there for all kinds of race cars. You might have some luck there (and it would be local).

this is something ive been saying for a while to some of my tuner friends. there just arent any really big parts out there for our cars. you have proved it with this. i think someone needs to step up and build some huge stuff for the drag racers out there. big ass header, with 3 inch collector, and a 3 or 3.5 inch exhaust.
imagine how sideways car would run with these two pieces on it. he needs the flow obviously. 400+ hp, and aspirated sized piping? cmon. im working on a diff conversion now, trying to see what ill be able to do. i wanna see an s2k in the 10s. hell quicker the better. i can imagine it, go to the street races, see an S pull up, hardtop, gutted completely, 600 HP, wheely bar, drag radials, maybe a chute on the back. MMMMM. sounds good to me. anyways, just providing some imagination. later dudes. dave
