Your Buddy is wrong. There are no T prefixes on OBDII codes. How did they pull the code, with a scan tool or by shorting 2 wires in the diagnostic connector?

Isn't the ESM adjustable with a small screwdriver? It wouldn't hurt to turn the Clamp volts down to 2.85 and see what happens.

He hooked up this very expensive looking snap-on scan tool about the size of a laptop and I read the code directly from the screen - I can adjust the voltage and will do so, Please know that I really appreciate the time you are taking

The flash code for a Misfire is a 71. The only thing I can think of is the Snap-on tester adds a T for some unknown reason. There is probably a DTC type function on the scanner to change the DTC into a OBDII DTC.

UPDATE:
I had my car dynoed today and didn't have the rpm issue that I had and recovered some of my power but I think I have narrowed my A/F issues down to a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator! I can barely adjust the pressure and Comptech asked me to lower it to around 35 and my fuel pressure gauge reads 43 even if I back the adjustment screw all the way out to where it isn't even making contact with the internal spring in the FPR. I will call them on Monday to see if I can get a replacement - On one of the runs my A/F dipped way down in the 7's . It is just dumping fuel right now!

I am having the same issue with my car, except it only just started happening and it happens around 3k-5k rpm while I'm on partial throttle. Anyone have any idea's?

Here's one possibility:
Some of your ESM (Comptech?) wire connections have degraded over time. Go check them all and solder them if they are not already soldered. I also have a feeling that if you have not yet thrown a CEL, you will soon. And it might even likely be a MAP code. Bad connections will do this and the hesitation you are witnessing.
I'm also going to say it may be an intermitent thing. You may go out there tomorrow, start the car and it will run fine, then another time, it'll be odd again.
You may be able to confirm what I've just said by going to where all the wiring connections are (behind the driver's kick panel, right?) and using the flat of you hand, give it a few firm pushes. For good measure, do the "MAP Whack" and ECU reset, then go for a drive. If the car runs fine, then go check those connections.
