Default Supercharged Guys; anyone else need opinions

I am looking at a 00' that has had a Comptech SC kit since 50,000 miles. It is currently over 100,000 miles. Is this something to stay away from? I checked the car out, engine sounds good. I would like to get a compression test, but what should I be weary about? Stay away? Both are same price.

Definitely a compression & leak down test on the s/c one in particular (not a bad idea to do it on both). Check shaft play on the charger. I think 50k is getting up there in miles for that unit.

Personally I'd go with the '02. If it's mint you can expect it was well taken care of. The boosted engine almost certainly has less life left in it, though it may still run great for quite a while.

Just my $0.02, interested to hear what others think.

Thank you. Great input. Yes, both are getting compression tests and leak down tests. The supercharger owner states he was a Honda Tech and maintained it constantly. I asked him if the car was turned with the AEM V2, he said yes but it was removed. He's been running the car without it, is this possible?

Yes they had a very basic setup with a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, map clamp, and some other trickery. It works, but there is a lot more to be had if you get a standalone back on it.

Well, I will report back the numbers on the car. I hope the car has some good numbers.
