Thumbs up Subwoofer causing lock on center console to vibrat

Really annoying. It seems the lock mechanism on the center console vibrates and rattles from my subwoofer in the trunk. Seems to be the only thing that does.
I am sure others have had this as I remember reading about it before.
What can be done to stop it from rattling?

Do you mean the center glove box, or cup holder? Is it the exterior of the lock (where the key and button are, or is it the whole door?

The whole latch and lock assembly was loose on mine when I bought it, so I tightened it with a screwdriver from the inside. Since I've had a subwoofer I've also had an ipod cable running into the glovebox which makes the door close a little tighter. Mine doesn't rattle at all.

It is the glove box. Seems like the whole door/lock part rattle together. If I push on them while the sub is going they stop rattling.

So I probably lucked out by having my ipod cable come up through the bottom where the hinge is, since it's putting a little pressure on the door now and making it close tighter. I'd say you should put some sort of sticky thing, like a like rubber bumper abour 1/4" thick on the door (or the box) so when it closes there is more tension. I'd recommend putting it at the bottom by the hinges and you'll never see.

I'll snap a pic later of where my cable is to show you were the increased tension is on mine.

Also, make sure the screws on the latch mechanism are tight, just in case.

Ok cool. Thanks man. I'll take a loot at that and mess around with it a little bit. Seems to be the only thing that really rattles loud from my sub now.

My exhaust makes mine rattle, did all that already & no luck. I pulled the lock out & lined it in rubber tape, made gaskets for the screws, no luck. I even put rubber tape on the metal u shaped bar the lock latches to, no luck. Only solution is to leave it open otherwise put up with the rattles.
