Subtle rattle after liftoff
When lifting off and letting the revs slowly creep back down while slowing at around 2.5k RPM I am getting a subtle but noticable rattle.
It sounds like what a drill bit sounds like when it skates over a metal surface, higher frequency though.....obscure I know but that's the best way I can describe it
Any ideas before I get the dealer to diagnose it so I know where I might stand?

You and quite a few others including myself. I think it was the member drewmob who started a thread about it. My mechanic can't find the source either. For a long time I believed it was something loose in the end can(s) of the exhaust, but I changed exhaust system, and all that happened was the rattle changed position in the rev range (due to sonics I guess). Open the door and lean out.. IS yours coming from the middle of the car as well?
The current theory is the spring loaded bolts that hold the cat/test pipe on. Try to find the other thread, it shouldn't be too far back...

Definitely not the TCT.
Actually found it more pronounced at around 3.5k RPM this evening.
Mine started maybe 50 miles ago, only got 7500 on the clock. Does sound like a load of stones sitting in the exhaust being rattled around and it defiantly sounds like it is from the center of the car. It does sound more 'mechanical' than just loose debris being vibrated somewhere though. Imagine a cog like mass spinning around an axle, but the axle being a little too small and making the whole thing shake around as it spins. Very much that kind of a sound. Almost seems to come in loud pulses of 3.. lift off... "wah wah wah".
Mine is in the dealer for warranty work on a few things soon so will definitely be getting them to find out what it is.
