So you where cruising along in 5th, at 35mph. Then pushed the clutch in, and floored the gas. Then you released the clutch?

If that's the case, you where in WAY to high of a gear to be accelerating. You smoked the clutch big time. Stop doing that, or you'll be buying a new one soon.

no i would never do that...
imagine that the car have the wheels off the floor...on a jack stand...i pushed the gears...like this
only that the wheels were spinning because they rails were polished and wet...
my real speed was near that...but the wheels were spinning like i was riding at 110mph if i wasnt in ice...

The same advice still applies, stop doing it. Or you'll be buying a new clutch.

I would seem to me that you did not have BOTH tires on these rails, which meant that one tire was able to slip easily (on the rail) and the other was on pavement. Running the engine to such high rpm with one tire on a very slippery surface could cause the Limited Slip Diff to heat up quite badly. Maybe the LSD is severely damaged?

havin had a look at your posts i think

that u knew u were going to be able to break traction so u put the car in 5th gave it a rev let the clutch out

the back wheels would have started to spin and then u gave it more gass.

sometimes in thissituation the clutch will be slipping but u are unaware as the wheels are spining(so its harder to tell)

so as u gave it gas the clutch was burning out at the same time as the tires were spinning.

oh the smell a clutch makes when burning it is unreal and i have had a time where i jumped in my car 2 days after and could still smell it.(makes me cringe just remembering what it asmeeled like.

i wouldnt worry about it too much and the smell should clear in time.if u had the heater on at the time(ac aswell) then it was sooking that smell back into the heater

maybes next time u wanna break the back wheels loose wait till its wet or take it off road.also what would happen if u were spinning the wheels onthe rails and the wheels came in contact with a grippable(is that a word) surface...would this not be pretty dangerous.

i didnt have traction since i get on that rails
i didnt put 5 gear and push it!
the stoplight gets green, i put 1 and i push it since it was near the vteczone i changed to second and so on until 5 gear...but that in a very few seconds...not even 10 seconds...
i still have the smell but is not too strong now...lets see what happens in a few days
i tried the heater and no smell coming in....even when i was stopped or running....the smell is in front and when the fan starts on i can smell it from the sides and the rear...
i tried the clunch some times...and dont think she is slippering...when i get a gear and i let the gas pedal to normal it takes it with strengh and when i hit it i feel it pushing
that would be a little dangerous but since the rails were a little lifted 1 centimeter or two from floor i didnt care a lot about it the wheels didnt falled out because the rails maked a curve to the wheels like they were in balance

it was a stupid action and i will never do it again...

cheers,
Dennes.
