I agree with the fact that alot of questions asked are horribly dumb and we may see them and think "WTF is this person thinking". I then think we have to realise that the reason we "think" it is dumb is the simple fact that we already know the answer and that in itself would be common sense to us.

I am not saying that people don't need to learn!"aka..the search function". One of the reasons so many of us populate s2ki is because we enjoy the fact that we can share our knowledge, help others to gain, and gain ourselfs.

What it comes down to is the fact that those "posts" are never going to stop no matter what. All we can do in my opinion is help the newbies on their way by answering their questions and giving friendly reminders to utilize the resources available to them i.e. search.

I will continue to help with answers for what I do know(which may not be alot) for the simple fact that everyone here answered my questions, and the newbies deserve the same respect.

If you don't like it don't answer it, but don't be rude in the process!

Sorry for the rant. Just my .02 !

No one is getting banned over something this trivial. The threads won't be locked either.
In the 5+ years of S2ki, just about every question has been asked before. Do you want forums full of "do a search"?

It's not against any rule to ask questions, but encouraged.
what he said

The forums are a means of conversing with one another, meeting peeps and making friends. A peep can learn a lot by reading the forums and asking questions.

There are some harsh peeps around.
