Default Stupid oil level question

I check my oil weekly and yesterday the level on one side of the dipstick was all the way up but only 3/4 on the other side of the dip stick. Should i take it to valvoline and have them top it off or is it a small loss and ok to wait 400 more miles till my oilchange?

Dude... you can't top off your own oil?

But 3/4ths up the disptick is fine, you can wait until your oil change in 400 miles.

Yeah, god forbid you crack open that new bottle of oil

Much easier to drive the car somewhere and wait while some d1psh1t spills oil all over the valve cover. Honestly, how is that even an option?

If full or 3/4 are you what you have to pick from, I wouldnt worry. If Add or 1/4 is what your seeing then thats a different story.

Elvir asked a simple question. The sarcasm isn't necessary. We've lost some great members at this site due to rude behavior.

Elvir - I should mention that in the past there have been several members that have had bad experiences at quick-change oil places. Many of us do all of our own maintenance to prevent others from doing damage to our babies. I've read of many instances of drain plugs falling off (not tightened), stripped drain plugs, stripped oilpan threads for the drain plug and old oil filter gaskets left on the block, causing a mess and engine failures. These stories show up on threads here and elsewhere that scare us away from allowing anyone from touching our vehicles. It happened to my wife (back when I first met her years ago). You trust these guys more than most of us.

You know. I've honestly noticed that when i check the oil level on the dipstick, one side always is different than the other side... i have no idea which to ever use.

I just go with the lower measurement heh.
