^Old thread but I beg to differ. I did mention pause SLIGHTLY. This doesnt mean wait a second before youi shift. The small pause allows the revs to drop and having the syncros do less work. FAST shifts = syncros being unhappy.

Honda is notorious for synchro problems not only in s2000's but civics as well. They should cover it under warranty

I had the same issue in my AP1, but only after the tranny got hot from driving more that 30mins on the freeway. I did the recommended change to GM friction modified tranny fluid, but that didn't help. It's a shame as the S2 tranny is one of the best shifting transmissions out there...when it works.

For me, the fluid was old. When I clutched in, I wasnt getting a great "clutch in" if you will, and the feel wasnt great either. For me this contributed to 2nd gear grinding once in awhile.

Drive smooth , people think power shifting and ripping gears is affective but its really in affective and bad for the tranny . I have 120000 miles on my car with alot of hard miles, drag , and road track days. My Tranny is flawless , only grinds 3rd very rarely if i get lazy .
