Default STUCK CASTLE NUT SPINS BALL JOINT!

So I'm trying to get my wheel bearing fixed and decided to remove the hubs myself (no idea why I bother). Anyway, I've been following Rob Robinette's instructions (http://robrobinette.com/S2000Bearing.htm) and he suggested putting the castle nut back on the ball joint in reverse when using the ball joint separator. Well I did that and
  1. the ball joint still looks like it's either damaged or oozed out all of it's grease
  2. and now the castle nut is stuck on and just spins the thread

Here's a video to better show what it looks like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQh2...6H5iIVcq-6ntLw

And in that video I tried jacking up the knuckle to put weight on the nut which obviously didn't work. No idea what to do now; any suggestions?

And just in case anyone is wondering, when I did this on the otherside I didn't put the castle nut back on ;-)

try jacking the arm not the knuckle.

you want the lower arm pressing on the balljoint

You want the joint to wedge itself back into the arm, jack up the arm or get an impact gun.

Impact works better than steady torque so if you don't have an impact wrench try positioning the wrench and striking the handle.

i'll try getting the jack under the arm. Impact won't batter because the shoulder of the knuckle is on the bottom; you can see it in the video.

Why is the nut on upside down in the video? I just watched it now.

The "cone" of the BJ that's spinning needs to be wedged back into the arm, jack up the arm.

That nut is upside down!! To get it off use a c-lamp to apply pressure. I have managed to find a spot where a c-clamp did the trick on every ball joint on this car, without the use of an elaborate setup, it just takes patience. On note is to be careful popping the joints and not to crush the ends of the threads

The upside down nut was Rob's suggestion (link in original post) to protect the ball joint when using the tool. I'll look for a c-clamp and maybe a pry-ball this weekend.

When my ball joints spun I used an air ratchet until they caught, then I used a torque wrench at the end.

If the nut is upside down you can try using a crow-foot wrench (while balljoint is preloaded) with an impact gun. Just a thought
