Default Strut Tower Brace causes drift?

Does installing a STB cause the car to drift?

I have no experience with such a brace, Ajjra, but I'm wondering why you'd ask such a question... Wouldn't a brace allow less body flex and keep the wheels in better contact with the road in a turn?

Just curious.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. I heard someone say that a STB will cause the wheels to break away suddenly on a tight turn rather than slowly give. Is this true? This is what I meant to ask.

Gotcha'... OK, my guess is that, assuming such a brace increases your cornering limits by keeping the car flatter, the tires will probably break away more violently when you finally exceed their limits. Just a guess. I'll be interested to see if anyone with this kind of mod has an opinion to offer.

No, the STB is only felt as a slight aid on rough surfaces, it will not make any notable change in handing. The x-brace makes a bigger difference, sharpening the turn-in slightly, but neither brace has any dramatic impact. You won't drift more or less.

get a front sway bar to reduce understeer, rear to enduce a drift. the STB is the last part you need, as in it does the least for your car. invest in a X-brace and a front sway bar IMO. The X brace should help with Bump steer, which is when you go through a fast sweeping turn and the road dips, causing the car to unsettle.

Hey, Matt,

I can certainly grok why a front anti-sway would improve front grip and reduce understeer. Can you tell me why a rear bar would induce drift?? I don't understand that. I would think that firmly planting the rears would hinder drift...

Just curious. Trying to learn something about what these mods do... Tnx.
