When cornering, there's exactly zero pressure on the top of the shock mounts. This car doesn't have struts, there's no load path to the top of the shock like there is in a strut suspended car.

Just tighten the thing up and use it to lean on when changing the oil or working under the hood.
Actually my son gave it to me so I was obliged to install it. Just wanted to do it right.

He had heard of a test that someone did. They tied a taught string or wire from the top of one shock tower to the other. After a run on the track the wire was broken, which would indicate that there is some flexing.

if you wanna do it "right" the idea is to have pressure going outward. meaning the bar pushing the towers "out" thats how to preload the towers. but in all truth this car has a great chassis and tons of factory bracing so it shouldnt be needed. but it does look purdy

Mine was free and I use it to lean on when doing engine work. It's absolutely not doing anything but adding a pound or three though.

Try a cusco "U" brace, its light and does not get in the way of an oil change, and made a small difference on my car as to turn in response. So much that I wont be taking it off any time soon.

Is that the Brace that goes on the bottom? If so I have that bottom Chassis stiffener and I noticed a small difference, in that the car tended to handle more flat through the corner.
