Strut Bar with Comptech CAI

Strut Bar with Comptech CAI
I just got done installing my Comptech CAI, and when I was going to put my strut bar back on, I realized there was no longer enough clearance for it. I am wondering what other Comptech CAI owners are using for the strut bar, besides the obvious Comptech bar (which I hate the looks of to be honest) it looks like the Backyard Special piece might fit, but that's $450... I have also thought about just cutting away at the back of the airbox to make room for the strut bar. Any suggestions?

I might be getting a Comptech intake later this week as well. Although I do not plan on buying a STB, if I did, I would go for the BYS. Apparently, it's a cf design that would match the Comptech box pretty well. I agree - $450 is a pretty steep price. Maybe the Neuspeed bar will fit?

I actually just got done working on the car, I ended up cutting out a piece of the back of the airbox to allow the strut bar clearance. It turned out pretty clean actually, I will have to get some pics taken soon. I am also going to have a custom pipe made out of aluminum, because the large "reservoir" part of the intake piping hits the strut bar now. I must say it sounds very nice in VTEC now though.

Dont notice any sound difference under 6k, but my spoon exhaust will overpower the sterio even if I have it cranked up pretty loud... Once I get the silencer in, it should sound pretty sweet. Noticed a slight power gain, felt like it wanted to accelerate a little bit easier.

Here are some pics for you guys.
Engine bay with my new CAI
Pic of the airbox, the strut bar doesnt go over it, I actually had to cut the CF so it will meet the strut bar, I tried to make it close as possible so a slight amount of hot air will get in.
The bulge in the intake piping actually hits the strut bar, I am having a polished aluminum piece fabricated to replace this piece though, should look much better, and it wont hit the strut bar!

Just ordered the aluminum piping for the new intake pipe. Should be in on Thursday, and I will have it made and installed Friday. I'll be sure to post pics of that when it's done as well.
