strut bar and air filter box question
#11
Hi everyone,
Again, thanks a lot for your help. I took some pictures and hopefully they can help me express myself better.
I went to Firestone to replace my front tires yesterday and the guy suggested me to unscrew the portion circled in the last picture and lift the bar, and then replace the air filter.
Does this sound like a good solution to you guys?
Thanks and Merry Xmas.

the second way is to take off the mounting bolt(four) but do not take the car off the air or the alignment will shift
it looks like you can still slide the lid off with the bar on, it's very weird that the bar sticks out that much, you might want to ask other spoon strut bar owner about this.
my bar sits on the other side of the strut if you know what it mean.
good luck

Remove the strut bar with an 12mm wrench and reinstall the nuts to 36 lb-ft. Sell the bar on ebay, you don't need it. Removing the bar will not change your alignment. Removal and disposal of strut tower bars is a right of passage for S2000 owners. There are 2 kinds of S2000 owners: those who have removed their strut tower bars and those who will. It's the first money most new S2000 owners waste on their cars.
