Unhappy Strut area bolt question!

Okay, so I just installed an engine torque damper and have a strut bar on it's way.

I realized, though, that the two bolts that stick up and out where the strut bar is supposed to be mounted on is a lot shorter than I expected!

I ordered both the tq damper & the strut bar at the same time because I didn't think the bolt-length shortage would even be an issue.. and now there won't be enough room on the two bolts for both the tq damper & the strut bar to be bolted securely!

Help!! Is there anything I can do besides giving up one or the other?!

^^ Not that easy. He's talking about the bolts that stick up from the strut. Although, you may be able to find some. They'd have to look like a lug nut. They'd be serrated on the head to hold themselves in place. It'd be hard to find/do.

Why a strut bar? There's a ginormous peice of metal bar that goes between the strut towers allready.

Do you want an engine torque damper or a strut bar? Making a decision may be the easiest solution.

I'd say they're both a little useless...but the torque damper would be less useless. So sell the strut bar.

Maybe you can find a different mounting point for the damper?

haha can't say i don't agree with you but it's just that i'd rather install them both if i could.

i've seen some pictures of s2000's with longer bolts so i might just give them a shout.

regardless though i'd have to keep the torque damper if i were to choose one or the other cause it's reduced vibrations significantly and really does help (a little) when shifting.

S2KPUDDYDAD is your friend.

PM him and see if he still makes this. I forget who I went through to get this. It's in a tight spot to install, but it works and you dont have to break your mounting tab, if you didnt already.

Also another option you have depending on what you have purchased, or if it is returnable, is to get the Spoon ETD/STB as the STB mount has a place for the ETD.

If you wanna see my mount just let me know, I noticed your nearby.

thanks a zepeda926..

i already saw his thread, but couldn't find myself the willingness to pay $65 for two little molded peices of metal :/

it's a great and useful invention on his part but ridiculously overpriced. and besides, i've already broken that tab off. i think i'm just going to have to decide on one or the other if i don't find some longer bolts somewhere

This is very funny, coming from someone who has purchased a strut bar in the first place.

65 bucks isnt even that much, but nontheless you cannot use it now as you have broken off the tab. sell your parts and buy the spoon set up.
