Strong gas fume smell after parking car...don't really want a car fire!
2007 AP2 with ~27K miles
Been noticing a strong gas fume smell when I park the car after driving (city and/or highway). It seems to be worse when the tank is not full to the brim and is leading me down the path of thinking it's just the vapor control valve doing it's thing since it's so hot here in AZ but it's pretty strong.
Anyway, I've already checked the fuel pressure regulator, quick disconnects, and lines right by the intake manifold and the injectors themselves for leaks (with the car running). I couldn't see any signs where fuel might have been leaking.
I also made sure the fuel filler cap and seal looked ok and they seem fine.
I haven't noticed any drips under the car in my garage but I haven't inspected all of the lines under the chassis. That is on the list for tomorrow.
Is there anything I could have missed?
Any tips on how to check the fuel tank, fuel pump, and vapor control valve?
