strange vtec issue

No, what I described was partial VTEC you could audibly here the switch but it wasn't as loud as usual and it didn't pull hard. BUT, I just fixed it. Number 3 cylinder rocker arm pin was stuck. A bit of compressed air, relube and assembly and she's running like a stabbed rat now!

Thanks for updating the thread w/ the results. First time I'd ever heard of this happening (mostly 'cuz I don't know alot of people that have disassembled the head that far).

How do you think the pin got stuck?
Was it a new rocker arm (3-piece) assembly?
Was it an intake or exhaust rocker?
They way I understand the drawings is, that if you mix them up you always have one rocker in "vtec" mode, even when the vtec soleniod is not "on".
That would IMO cause an irregular idle?
During normal vtec mode both are locked as normal.
