Strange noise when decelerating at high RPMs
Ok so I was approaching a yellow light when I noticed a cop sitting to the right. I was coming pretty fast into it so I had to drop down two gears. Nothing out of the normal, reved up to about 7000-8000 RPMs, but then the noise came. It almost sounded like metal on metal. A ringing almost. I was afraid it might be a valve. I pulled the valve cover after it sat for 6 hours and everything looked fine. I did a valve adjustment and only needed to tighten 2 valves to get everything to spec, not bad. But this noise is still bothering me.
Also it was loud enough to hear over my J's 70rr exhaust, radio at 25 of 40 on the volume, and the top down, it wasnt a faint noise.
What else should I check. I took the car out since an no noise but I am afraid to re-create the scenario again...

Change in the cupholder can ring from the vibration. Or...you can get ringing from the shifter if it's not well greased. Mine does it a little at high rpm under acceleration.
