I've got a 03 S2000 and sometimes I get a strange noise as I enter a bend under throttle, entering the bend seems to induce the noise, which at first I thought I'd dropped a value or something.
A sort of fast metallic rattle that can be heard easiest at 4k-5.5k revs.
After I exit the bend I can still hear it if I stay in a similar rev range to 4-5.5k. It comes and goes and every time I go to the Honda garage it doesn't appear and it's pointless even going in the door of the dealership.
The noise is from the front end of the car and if I push the clutch in, it goes away, so It's gearbox/clutch problem, it's not a buzzing sound. It's getting more common and I'm worried that the gearbox is going to blow to bits and blow the engine as well
I've checked the search and can't find anything that is similar.

Any Ideas?

I had the same prob... mines a 2001 model... brought it to the Honda dealership and they determined it was a clutch prob.... they ordered a replacement so will only be able to confirm the feedback after the installation in about a week's time....

Slammer,

Did you get the metallic rattling as you entered corners? Did the noise disappear for weeks at a time?

Nope. No good ideas if the noise is really coming from the front. It was POSSIBLE to be from the rear then the differential LSD could be misbehaving (you're removing drive force when you push in the clutch).

I sometimes did notice some rattling sound also..... why not let them replace my clutch first and i'll get back to u with wat i will observe. I think it should be done by early tis week.... Another thing is that i notice a burning smell probably from the clutch after a "Hard launch" from stand still (at ard 6000rpm) I dun think the newer models have tis prob rite???? Anyone with a newer S2000????

Subaru2000.... greetings again. I've done my clutch disc replacement and now the grinding and the rattling noise is no longer heard..... so i guess u should get yours checked out by Honda to fix the prob. Is your car still under warranty??? (From the forum....i discovered that there were recalls done on the car so the affected items will be replaced FOC)
