It will be cheaper to part the head and block out and buy a used f22c then it will to be rebuilt is some cases. It's very hard to fine a good used f22c crank. They are almost $1000 new. Pistons are about 250-300 each new. Rings are about 40 each set. Rods I'm not so sure about. But you will need to have the walls howned and the head decked if there is the smallest of scratching anywhere. Also remember small parts you will need that add up..... Head gasket , intake mani gasket, ex gasket, Honda bond, New head studs because they have been reused many times if the motor was already pulled apart, etc... It adds up fast. Just part out the motor and buy a used one.

Ap2 pistons are back ordered is the whole USA. I was looking for some already. And if the block walls get howned to much you will have to buy over sized rings and they won't fit the pistons you already have. You will have to buy oversized pistons. Fyi.

The the cylinder walls are not scored and that's a big relief lol. I'm going to try and find the problem and perhaps just part it out if it's too much money like you said. I'm also going to send out the head to have it checked out for any damage, but it look's okay.

Im thinking that you will need to have it honed BEFORE you put in new rings or they wont seat.

If you are budget constrained just put some AP1 length rods and run it as a 2000cc. Used AP1 rods are easy to come by. If its NA then a set of used AP1 pistons would bring the compression back to where it needs to be.

@Chris_barry: That is a very interesting and doable point you have made. I think that will be the route I will strongly consider once I get to the bottom of the problem.. Thank you very much man. Anything else I should be aware of by putting in ap1 rods?

Can I use my AP2 pistons with AP1 rods? they have the same bore of 87mm not sure if using the ap2 pistons will be a problem. I'm trying to keep it in my budget.
