Default stop/taillight issue

HI s2ki, this is my first post as a new owner of a 00 s2000 here. i have many questions of course, but my priority is when i turn my lights on at night the only source of light i get from the back is from the side marker light. and only when i press the brakes the big rounded light comes on but it's off if i'm not stepping on the brakes ???? thanks in advance

The bulb has two filaments (the wires inside that light up) ---one lights up brightly when you step on the brake pedel and the other is the taillight one which is lower brightness.

The two filaments usually don't burn out at the same time so what you're experiencing is normal for a bad bulb--- they're cheap and easily replaced----start there...

Post up whether it solves your problem....If not, you have some sort of wiring issue....

You can get the bulbs at Walmart or any auto parts store. They come 2 to a package for about $5.

The bulb number you need is 7443.

Yes it's fuse #23 in the under dash fusebox--- it also controls the front parking lights, rear license plate lights and instrument guage lights (plus other things)

pull it and see if it's good though if only your taillights are out, the fuse is good and the bulbs are bad
