I was wondering if there were different valve cover colors on the S through the years?

Would a valve cover from an AP2 fit on an AP1? Same thing with the wire cover?

Also were the spark plug wires covers any different through the years?

Who makes battery tie-downs other than Comptech? Any links/info would be great

AP1 = Red valve cover and black spark plug cover
AP2 = Red valve cover and gold spark plug cover

Yes, they are interchangeable, except perhaps for the '06 cars. They have much different emissions control and may have changed some of the connections.

what out for the PCV valve, ap1 has a flat seat for the pvc while the ap2 has a left/right seat

06 changed something for the TPC sensors, can't remember top of my head now

True, the PCV valve is different. Change the PCV valve and you can use either valve cover in either car.

Isn't the 06 or 07 spark plug cover back to black?

You can have your valve cover powder coated any color you want.

You can find a battery tie down on eBay, they come up each day.

Personally I went with the Comptech one.

I like the red valve cover just fine.you can buy a J's racing valve cover( a light blue/green color) or a spoon valve cover(yellow).

I emailed skunk2, and their battery tie-down won't fit our cars. I don't like the comptech one

I don't see why it Wouldn't? Looks universal to me? I never knew battery tie down even had applications.
