Got a question that I am sure has a good explanation or easy answer.
I installed new OEM suspension on MY03 (shocks and springs) and I have a new noise coming from the rear. It sounds like metal smacking metal. I hear this noise whenever I hit a bump and my suspension is 'Rebounding', not compressing.
I did the installation myself with a mechanic friend but I think I may have done one thing wrong during the procedure.
When installing the top hats on the shocks, I used an Impact wrench on the all 4 but on the rears, I did not follow up with a wrench to make sure it was tight. Also, I did not use an alan wrench in the bolt to keep the rod from spinning.
Can any of these have an impact on what i am Hearing from the rear? My guess was that the top hats are slightly shifting off the springs during rebound and smackin together during bound.
Any thoughts?
