Hello guys. I have a 2005 S2K , I installed aftermarket coilovers but i didnt like them so i turned back to stock . Here are my questions:


-Are there left or right suspension difference in front or rear of the car ? I mean i dont remember which one to put to left rear or right rear . And the same to front left and front right . ( i know the ones with the tube go to rear )
Do they have any difference ?


-I measured the height of the car with the stock suspensions. when i installed the stock suspensions back again , i measured the height again . Rear suspension was the same as before but fronts were higher than rear . Should i wait for them to settle ? What might have caused this ? Fronts are about 1,0 cm higher than rear.

They were crazy bumpy at the rear in the softest setting so i had to take them off. Do you have any idea about the stock suspension install ?

The front shocks have a left and right orientation, the rears do not. If you go to buy Koni's they show left front, right front and rears.

I imagine it's in how the brake lines mount up since the lines often bolt to the shock.

It is easy to work it out.

The captive bolts on the bottom of the shocks face the rear of the car and the top mounting bolts are also orientated. Easy

The is trying to get the rears back on as the lower wishbone will not go down far enough with out a lot of force!

The problem you have with the coilovers is common with JDM sourced kits due to high spring rates, also the +04 cars have a short damper travel often causing you to hit the bump stops. I found the same thing.

I am now having a set custom built by Nitron with lower spring rates (300lbs all round) and matched valving with progressive bump stops.

BTW the OEM +04 spring rates are 250lbs all round.

So from the posts i understand that rear suspensions doesnt have left or right difference , but fronts have . And i can see the difference in the fronts by looking at the brake line mounts . Am i right ?

I thought that this car had different preloads at each corner ?

Even if it does. Unless you have a spring pressure tester for the rear springs how are you going to know which is which? You should have marked them when you removed them.

I'm skeptical though.
