Stock oil cooler coolant flow

Stock oil cooler coolant flow
Does anybody know when coolant flows through the coolant lines to the stock oil cooler? Does it flow at all times or what? Also, In what direction does the coolant flow? Thanks.

I don't know how the search is working, but this question has been asked and answered before - about 2 years ago. Coolant flows all the time, but I can't remember which way.

Thanks! That made for some good reading. I was thinking of addint a water/oil cooler due to the lack of space under my hood, but after reading that thread it seems like the added stress to the cooling system is not worth it. I'll just have to move stuff around to get an oil cooler to fit somewhere.
