I had this mod done a few months ago...now I can't vouch for some of the prices given such as 20 to 40 bucks...I don't know any shop that does much of anything for that small dinero. I paid 80 to have it removed. My impression was a very subtle change in exhaust note...hardly noticeable to my ears...

.... All it does is removes the raspy tone in the exhaust.....
If a deeper tone is what you are after then an aftermarket muffler would be a better choice. The resonator keeps your exhaust sounding clean and smooth and no 4-cylinder car with a high flow exhaust should be without one IMO.

Doesn't exactly look restrictive does it.
I have installed a set of racing mufflers (95db and max flow of 2,00cfm each) that give you that 350Z sound during idle.
Speeds up to about 70mph the set is as quiet as stock.
BUT WHO DRIVES EXACTLEY 70 MPH ON THE HYWAY
When you get up to about 85mph with cruse control the tone does become very pronounced. Would replacing the stock resonator with a another straight through muffler like I currently have help with the dB at 85mph cruse speed. The new muffler that woud go in place of the resonator could be anywhere from 4 to 6inches internal diameter with length varying 12 to 22inches long.
Trying to reduce the dB with out effective the flow properties (going FI in a couple of months) and want lower the exhaust tone frequency
