stock db?
does anybody know what the db for the stock exaust are? i am going to buy the veil side full titanium and i heard its like 125db i want to get an idea of what the diff will be?

to expand on that....i to am thinking of getting it.......

Guys, unless you have spent a bit of time around sound meters, the db reading can't mean a whole lot to you. Not to mention the conditions for measurement that have been used so far have been less than consistent.
Try to hear them in person, or even better, get a ride in a car equipped with the exhaust you like. That's where you'll be experiencing it.

no, actually i absolutly love my exhaust. I sounds really loud and agressive and it looks great. I can't say there is anything that I don't like about it.
I'm just thinking about the veilside, i think looks really good to plus it only weighs 5 pounds.....huge weight savings, especially over stock.
My only real concern about it is sound, mine is really loud and if i knew what it registered, i could get a good idea of how loud it would be. I just want to make sure that it is tolerable.

Tiger, talk to 9ktoheaven from Corpus Christi...He's got a Tanabe and comes up here to Austin quite frequently.
I find it hard to believe that the stock exhaust is 96db. Generally an exhaust that loud is "illegal", AFAIK.
As far as the difference in stock vs. a titanium exhaust, lets put it this way:
You will find it impossible to hold a conversation with a passenger if you are doing anything over about 70. Jason is right. Listen to them in person. Make sure you get IN the car and listen to them.
If you really want to know how loud in dB's your exhaust is, go to a local stereo shop, and ask if they'll let you use a dB meter. I suggest measuring from 50 ft, since thats the legal standard (At least in most places). Also, keep in mind that the dB scale is not linear. A 10 dB difference means the higher decibel is twice as loud as the lower reading (Or something along those lines.)
