Stinky Diff Fluid
i just did my first at home diff change and wow did that stuff stink. does stink=bad? the color was pretty dark, but i'm not sure what to compare it with since i haven't seen too many diff changes. i put in about 900cc's and torqued the drain plug to about spec. am i good to go now?

Your manual states that you should fill untill it starts to overflow out of the filler hole.
If that turns out to be about 900 cc then your're ok.
According to the manual it takes 800 cc.
A little extra doesn't hurt at all
May I ask (even if I don't, I am going to ) what diff oil did you use?

IIRC, diff lube has sulfer in it to help it withstand the extreme pressures between the gears. That's what gives it the smell. I've done a couple diff fluid changes and never thought it smelled bad though.

Eh, the stuff you put in should stink too man. I hope you didn't put that honda diff fluid crap in there, its only for crv's and civics and will destory the s2k diff.
Mobile 1 75w90 GL5 diff fluid, LE607 90w, Redline 75w90 diff fluid, or if you just want honda stuff, you can get the right diff fluid from a honda motor cycle dealer.
