Sticking starter

Sticking starter
When I went to fire up my car this a.m., it made an awful sound like the starter stuck. I turned it off and restarted it and it again made the sound. I then drove 5 miles, stopped at a gas station to fuel up, and this time when restarting it did not make the sound.
It has never done this before and other than being a bit colder this a.m. than previous I can't think of anything different about today. I did pull it into the garage last night after washing it only to realize I didn't pull up far enough, so I quickly fired it back up and pulled forward a few feet, then shut it down while in gear, so it was maybe on all of 10 seconds, not sure if this had anything to do with it.
I guess just keep an eye on it and see if the problem persists?

Pretty common issue for all S2000s. Over time the bendix spring becomes weak and the starter hangs up a little. Nothing to be worried about. I am actually working on a fix for this where owners will be able to send in their starters for a core exchange. We'll see how it all pans out.

Yea mine sticks a little too, usually when its cold out or hasn't been started in a while. Pretty sure its the OEM starter, if it is.. Thats 267k miles worth, I won't be mad if it dies.
