Default which steering wheel puller?

there seem to be a variety. which one is the best deal? I didn't look in my helms manual, but i did remove my center bolt (airbag was already gone) and i cannot just pull the wheel off (which is probably a good thing).

thanks

I am about to remove my steering wheel and am facing the same problem. Any suggestions or tips on removal?

BTW -- I did search, that's how I found this thread!

(Steering is all stock, wheel is all stock, replacement is basically stock.)

Most universal steering wheel pullers will get the job done. If you already have the airbag off, try lightly wiggling on the wheel, It may just pop right off. Of all the Honda steering wheels I've had to pull, most have not required a puller. If you do use a puller, make certain the center threaded shaft of the puller is pushing against the steering shaft, not the steering wheel itself. You may have to use a socket as a spacer to use the puller.

I find that if you pull hard on the wheel and get someone to knock the shaft sharply with a copper or brass drift and a heavy hammer they come off OK. Of course you have to remove the nut first. Need to be carefull not too damage the last turn of thread. Also make sure they dont break your nose on the up swing.

Sounds like a plan, but I will be doing this by myself so no second set of hands. I will get a puller (I think the parts store will loan me one, but I am sure if they charge, rental will be low.) If I don't need it, then oh well, but if I do it's there.

Thanks guys.

I ended up buying a $20 puller... it is very nice.... i attempted the old "pull like hell and hope to not break my nose if it comes lose pull"..... it did not come lose..... but when i used the puller it came right off....

now I have a different kind of hub and the puller won't even work on it.....
