Ok, where is this connector. Has anyone seen it?

I have no free connectors on the passenger side, but I do have a 16 pin connector on the drivers side. Is this a Japanese to english translation issue?

I have a MY02, and this connector is mounted to the center console and easly visable. I went so far as to pull the headunit out to see if I moved it during the stereo install. But nada.

Anyone?

In USDM S2Ks the DLC is located in the passenger footwell area just above the transmission tunnel mounted cargo net. The connector faces down towards the floor.

I look there, There is nothing there. there is one on the drivers side. But nothing on the other. and I have pulled the car apart looking for it. I bet they moved it for MY02 from MY00-01.

hmmm... that could be... the manual i have is '00 only. In either case it will be a black 16 pin "D" style connector with one side shorter than the other. Looking at the connector, pin 1 SCS will be located on the shorter row of pins....

../8..7..6...5..4...3..2..1
/16.15.14.13.12.11.10..9

pins 1, 6, 8, 12, 13 & 15 are the only ones that have wires running to them from behind.

Thanks Dave

That is exactly what the connector looks like on the driver side on MY02. The pins are even number (small but there).

Boy did I screw shit up. Blew like 3 fuses using this method, 12+13 show as ground but did I short it or what!!!

I blew some fuses andthe car didn't start. I have to figure some more stuff out before I try again.

Great It is Fixed, and what a differance. This was a piece of cake.

The conector for MY02 is on the driver side. The number on the connector are wrong, but Davepk diagram is right. I connected Pin 1 to body ground. Since the connector is mounted on sheetmetal I ground it there, Not Pin 12 or 13. Then I followed 17-45 and it worked like a champ.

Now why would the dealer try so hard not to do this. Even after they called Techline over and over. They still would not even try this simple fix.

Thanks to Utah S2k, cdelena, krazik and marcucci.

Can someone email me that picture of the procedure to Fyrestrike@comcast.net? S2KI won't let me enlarge it.
