I'll check that out, I drove the car today and it seems it happens more when the car is at low rpms which would make me think it's a power issue. IDK, I really don't wanna just buy all new stuff but I can't deal with this much longer.

If you have wider, stickier tires up front it puts extra stress on the power steering motor and causes it to fail. The MY'00 and MY'01's have this problem. The power steering will go on an off again until the motor finally fails. Guess how I know

Anyways, you can either buy a newer motor or just drive with no power steering. I opted for the latter.

that would make since and would fit my case, I've been daily driving and autocross racing on 17x9's and hankook 255's all the way around. It's now got 138,000 miles on it and atleast 40,000 of them were with bigger wheel/tire set up. Not to count I ran big 225/60/16 show tires on the car, that prolly didn't help any. The wierd thing is it never thru any codes at all. was that the case for you also? I'm gonna buy a new steering rack I guess or source a used one for cheap. I autocross race and have to have my power steering working in good order.

I ordered a steering rack. I hope this fixes it.

I'd imagine a S w/o power steering would be nice to drive. Can you disconnect the power module and see if you still get the sticking?

I could try that. The wierd thing is the ps has worked perfectly for the past two day and I got my new rack yesterday in the mail. I'm planning on installing it Friday. I don't get how it can work one day and not the next and never throw one code.
