Steering Column Adjustment
This is my first post WOOOO
I'm deep into my research stage for finding my next car. The S2000 is in the top spot right now but i wanted to find out more about the steering column setup.
I sat in an S2000 and thought the layout was really good, but the steering wheel needs to come up 1/2" or so for me. I would want to retain the stock steering wheel so i was wondering if anyones modified the mounting points for the columns location or if its been done before. Most of the columns that i've come across are bolted to simple brackets that can be modified.
Any help would be appreciated

Yes, you can adjust the steering column height. It's actually pretty easy. You need some various sized U shaped washers though which may be tough to find. You need to find the main steering column bolt and loosen it. Then you add in the washers to raise the wheel to the position that you want. You tighten everything down, and then you are good to go.
Not hard to do.

Spacing the column lower is possible, but moving it up will take more work than washers. Moving it up would require some handy work with a welder.
The column is bolted flush to the underdash brace. If you loosen the bolts, the column drops, not raises. The column is allready in it's highest position.
The washers between the body and the column will only lower the wheel.
It would be easier to lower the seat, several users have taken the seat apart and modified the bottom seat pan to sit lower in the car.
