Default Starting Car After Year of Storage

I made a short list of things I've read. Is this a good start or am I missing a few key items? Thanks.
  • Remove and charge battery
  • Siphon gas and fill it with fresh gas
  • Oil change
  • Remove spark plugs and turn the car over

Year old gas should be fine. Next time put sta-bil in there, and make sure its a full tank.

- Change oil
- Charge battery
- remove fuel pump fuse crank until oil light goes out. Reinstall fuse. Drive

You might want to squirt some oil into the cylinders before spinning the motor. This will pre-oil the dry cylinder walls while building up the oil pressure

Thats also a good way to damage your catalytic converter. Proceed with caution as to how much oil you add if you do this.

Personally I don't think its necessary.

If you are using dino oil, you may want to consider synthetic. It leaves a bit of a film after shutdown unlike dino oil.

I'd crank it with the fuel pump and distributor switched off just to insure there's oil pressure and oil pumped to the engine parts before she spins at speed. Without an oil pressure gauge it's a guess -- will the pressure light go out cranking this way? If you spin the engine with the plugs removed cover the area with a heavy towel as "stuff" often sprays out.

If there's trick to siphon gas from the S2000 I don't know it and year old gasoline should be fine but stinky. If there's any doubt of water in the fuel from condensation there's treatment to fix this.
