just curious, how does a valve adjustment lower the max reading on the map readings?

After how many miles do your valves need adjusted?

If the MAP is reading high, it could be that the MAP sensor is the issue. There have been some people who have the MAP connection come loose. You can probably get a used MAP for dirty cheap and try it out. Check the voltage readings after the new MAP goes in.

If the valves are tight then there is going to be less vacuum hence the higher map sensor voltage . Its as simple as that

Make sure the MAP sensor is tight. I think this may be a normal behavior for S2000s during climate change (happened to me a few times, all during season change), due to the ECU trying to adjust to the climate.

I found that letting my car idle for a good 5 minutes, and maybe even letting it die instead of fighting it by revving, made it better.

can someone explain if a valve adjustment can cause a high map reading at idle?

joe sled s2000 say a tight valve can cause a low vacuum which would cause a high map reading...can someone confirm that. thank you.

I don't believe the two can be related

Borrow a map sensor and try. I am sure a fellow s would swap
