OK.....so anyone who is anyone on this site should be able to tell me what specific damage occurs when you stall out.

Some tech tried telling me it was the clutch that gets more worn than the tranny...


can someone validate this for me?????

and if one driver stalls out like 1-2 times a week, how long will it take tel you have to replace the parts????

There are no reasons to stall out a car that frequent. Advise would to be to get someone to help this "one person" learn the art of standard. To me it would be more of the jarring to the drivetrain to wear everything prematurely. It may also throw the computer into a tizzy, due to the engine being forced to stop. Sensors trying to compensate to their fullest extent.

i stalled out a lot after i installed my 6-puck competition clutch i wasnt used to the hit or miss with the puck style clutches gets my a little nervous when im on hills i dont want to roll back

i'm guessing its worse when you spin out and stall since your engine is running at a higher rate.

does anyone know of the potential consequences of this?

I'd estimate you would have to stall your car 80-100 times a week to do any kind of measureable excessive wear.

Back when I was an TT owner, an owner stalled out and broke an engine mount, causing major damage. I believe when all was said and done the bill was around 4k, just for a simple stall out.

EDIT: I realized after posting this I should explain, if I remember right the stall cause the timing belt to slip off.

if a stall (by letting the clutch out too quickly) causes a timing belt or chain to jump... there is something very wrong with the motor!
