Thumbs up SRS Light Bypass AP2

I've got a Momo hub with a 2 ohm resistor included that is supposed to prevent the SRS light from coming on.

However, it doesn't appear to be working on mine. I even did the SRS reset procedure and wasn't able to clear the light even with the resistor in place.

My question is if the AP2 SRS system is enough different that the 2 ohm resistor isn't enough? I know the AP2 has a two-stage airbag versus one stage with the AP1, but there are still only two wires going to the airbag itself.

I measured the resistance of the airbag removed from the car and it was actually only .5 ohms between the two wires. Is this my problem?

Thanks for any help/advice!

2 ohm worked fine for me. Make sure it is plugged in correctly then try the srs reset again.

What hub did you end up using? I'm not entirely happy with the Momo hub...

I wouldn't overwork this problem. A little piece of black electrical tape will solve your issue.

Please elaborate...are you suggesting I block the SRS light from behind the instrument panel? Is there still a code visible on the ECU or is it stored in the SRS module?

The works bell.

Did you have clearance issues with the hub where it would rub with the wiring harness attached to the cable reel? I think the Momo hob was designed with the AP1 lower profile harness in mind...

Not behind the panel. Just right over the light on the outside of the panel. 5-second fix to your problem.

I'm pretty sure the ECU is not tied into the SRS light in any way. My SRS light has been on for almost three years now, ever since I installed the race seats, harnesses, and roll bar.
