SRS light is on.
Well, the story is...i've decided to remove my stock seat belts simply because I am currently running racing harnesses. Not sure if this has caused the SRS light to come on, but before that, it was fine. Is there something else I may not know about that is causing the light to come on?? Can I somehow reset the SRS light?
I have already tried unplugging the battery.

Well, from what I understand the seatbelts are integrated with the airbag system. This allows the airbag to only deploy when the seatbelt is drawn out of the spool, and there is sufficient weight in the seat to warrant the airbag deploying. But I might be wrong.
If you remove the seatbelts, I believe you are going to have to jump a connection somewhere to re-enable to airbags in the event of an accident, and stop the warning that the SRS sensors aren't working properly. But I might be wrong.
I guess my lack of self-confidence and direct knowledge of the S makes my general knowledge of cars somewhat useless
Did you shine the XViper symbol into the sky?

There's a procedure for resetting it in the shop manual. You should be able to do it with a paper clip if you're 1/2 way co-ordinated. It's the same procedure as for Civic's and Integra's if you don't have an S2000 manual.

If the OEM belts or bags are not installed, you will always have a SRS light on.
Not sure why you guys would think you can reset the light when you removed a component of the SRS system.
It's either deal with the red light, or take the cluster out of the car and remove the bulb.

if you've tried disconnecting the battery to rid your IPC of the SRS light, and it came back on immediately, you have what technician's refer to as a HARD DTC, which means, that the light will not be reset until the fault has been corrected. if you've removed anything that has to do w/the SRS, then the light will definitely stay illuminated. on these vehicle's, i believe that the seatbelt buckles have a switch, and i'm not certain, but they may also have pre-tensioner's integrated into them. so, if someone you know took their vehicle into a dealer and had the light reset, they didn't just hook up the HDS/PGM tester and clear it, they found the root cause of the DTC, repaired it, and cleared the DTC from the SRS control units memory.
