Default SRS issue...

Hello all,

So I removed my passenger air bag to wrap the cover in carbon vinyl; My SRS light is now on.. I double-checked the connector and it's connected securely. Does the light need to be reset??

Yes, it needs to be reset. If you unplug any component of your SRS you should have unplugged the battery first to let the SRS de-energize. Luckily for you, the procedure can be found on this forum and done at home

Did you reconnect the batt at any point while air bag was disconnected?

Hmm, i just went though this when I removed my seatbelts for a rollbar installation. I removed my battery, did my seatbelt gut, installed seatbelt simulators into the harness, reconnected the battery and never had an SRS light.

Is this what you are looking for? (From M.Y. 2000-2003 Honda Service Manual, section 23, page 19)

The service manual says "wait at least 3 minutes."
