squeeky springs

Default squeeky springs

Hey guys I recently purchased a brand new 07 s2k. When i ride slowly over speed bumps i hear my springs squeek. is that normal? will it go away? has anybody else experienced these problems?

Check the springs for spacers. S2000's are shipped with spring spacers in them which can be dangerous if not removed.

Yea you may as well check for spacers. I had 2 left on my car 53K miles later . Other wise the squeak I had on my car was from the hood latch. Adjusted it and now no squeaks. Other then that if your car is new I would take it to the dealer and ask them to diagnose it. Its under warranty.

so to follow up on this thread. i took the car in and they said it was the rear strut taht was making the noise so the had to order it and they are going to replace it. WTF in a brand new car... is this possible???

Could have just been a defective part to begin with. Let them replace it and see if that fixes it, if so you are good to go .

squeaking at slow speeds over small bumps -- had it too. turns out it was my front right upper arm bolt that needed a bit squeezing. tell them to tighten all your suspension bolts before anything else.

You should grease rear sway bar mounts rubber. This is very easy. You need 14mm wrench. Unbolt 4 bolts, remove rubber from mounts and grease them.
