Squeaky clutch pedal
#62
American Honda addressed this problem in the Feb 04 edition of "Honda Service News".
The grease they recommend is "super high temp urea grease" P/N 08798-90002
H/C 3720984.
Does anyone know what the flat rate is for this job?
Don Davis Honda in Amherst NY quoted me 2 to 3 hours at $72. per hour. I told them "If you think Im going to pay over $200 to get this thing lubed you are out of grapes".
I also give poor marks to Hondaland honda of Tampa Fl where they told me I needed a new master cylinder.

I have had this problem for half a year now, and I brought my car in to honda (who replaced my clutch under the clutch-buzz tsb) and they refuse to look at my car unless I can recreate the problem... and just my luck, every time i bring it in to them, my clutch feels fine!
It really does feel like something is not greased under there... I hear that it is a common issue that the Honda tech may have forgotten to grease the throwout bearing when installing the new clutch... hopefully that is not it, b/c that means they will have to totally disassemble my clutch assembly.
Anyways... maybe you guys should look into that if greasing up the fork does not resolve your problem.

Just want to add that I've had the squeaky clutch pedal for a year, and lubing the fork using the hi-temp grease did the trick.
But man, it was a bitch to get the grease in there.

Just had the greasing done for my clutch - no difference . Could it be they did not grease the right parts? I gave them the info. from this thread, along with the Honda Clutch Squeak service bulletin instructtions.
So it seems I am stuck with a clutch with a varying pedal effort and the inconsistentg release action.
