Default Squeaking/squeel coming from EPS?

Hey guys,

I'm having a squeaking noise coming from the front axle, not sure whether or not it's left and right sides as I've only head it myself. It happens when I'm turning the wheels and there's pressure on the suspension, moving the steering wheel slightly (not enough to turn the wheels much) there isn't a noise. Only when the tyres are actually being forced to move.

As far as I'm aware, I have a tie rod end that's worn out, could that be making the noise? Has anyone encountered the problem?

I did come across a bump in a carpark which resulted in bottoming out for a second, however car is not lowered and it was more on the right side, middle of the car. (silly Australian roads/ car parks)

Cheers in advance

im having same issue.. it started a little over a year ago but is getting worse.. It wasn't too bad then but now its happening almost everytime im backing up (mostly) and turning wheel.. its coming from front left. my mechanic works on a lot of s2k's but doesn't know what it is.. we ruled out wheel bearing because at this point, it would probably be vibrating when driving. its getting really annoying and somewhat embarrassing. I may take it to another place for 2nd opinion, but if anyone has any input, we'd greatly appreciate it. btw: im lowered a bit on coilovers..

id describe the noise as more of a squeal..

The tie rod end has a ball joint at the end, and ball joints will squeak once the boot is destroyed. Once the grease mixes with dirt and jams the joint up it's pretty much toast. I speak from personal experience, and luckily tie rod ends are not terribly expensive, or difficult to replace. Another thing that can cause squeaks and squeals during turns are worn sway bar end links. If the problem is the lower ball joint, I would replace that with OEM only, since it's a load bearing joint. The others can be pressed out of the control arm and replaced with the upper ball joint of a 1997 Honda Accord, and are pretty inexpensive.
