squeaking sound coming from transmission?
Hey guys just wondering if you could help out and see if you guys might know what is going on with my car. I have a 2005 s2000 with 47k on it and just recently i noticed it started making a funny noise from up front, it squeaks when im braking but as soon i come to a full stop it goes away. Other times it will start to make that same noise right after i turn it on and it continues while idling. I feel its coming from the transmission because when i push in the clutch it seems to quiet down.
Let me know what you guys think it might be and thanks for the help.

Is it possible these are two different noises, the one that occurs when braking and the one that occurs when stopped, and idling?
The noise while braking could be due to worn pads, or just pads squeeking due to vibration (there are lube compounds that can be applied to back of pads to prevent this, and also factory clips the connect the pads to caliper, etc).
But that is at odds with noise that occurs at idle, while stopped. Maybe that is a different noise, with a similar frequency that sounds the same. Maybe an idler pully or something.
