Hey, you guys all say low oil pressure is bad which I agree....
But what if you are showing very low oil pressure but ONLY AT IDLE - once you get moving the oil pressure comes right back up to normal?

Why is everyone thinking that the cel would come on when the bearing spins? There are no rod bearing sensors LOL
And if the oil light is on (below 5psi with the factory pressure switch) the engine is already screwed
The bearings are what create oil pressure, if pressure drops the bearing is already toast.
It shouldn't be called an oil indicator it should be an engine replacement indicator.

P.S. Did you end up rebuilding the motor? I could use some advice, as I have a motor with a rod bearing spun laying around in my garage. Looking into rebuilding it.

Ya i am rebuilding it slowly. I just started buying the oversized pistons 1 at a time i also road race motorcycles and occupies my cash i am rebuilding my car. The motor had 130,000-145,xxx miles so when i put it back together im replacing a bunch of crap as i go like bolts hoses lines pullys and bearings.

I am getting the shop in houston to re-do the sleeves with that special silicon crap.. im buying the pistons so they can make sure the bore n hone it to the piston size and number the pistons.
