didn't complain to me, just drain the oil, well, the oil will get on the brace, but just make sure they clean it and wipe it off.

I have a X-brace. I do my own oil changes. It's not that big a deal. If the dealer complains about it, they are just setting you up for a "surcharge".

I just took mine off after like 2 years of oil changes. I wipe down as much as I can with a rag everytime. Just popped it off and scrubbed a little bit and came super clean!

I say just drain over it and clean it up at the end of every year.

Someone mentioned a pretty neat idea to prevent this on another thread. He used a square of tin foil, resting on the brace, with a slight fold to channel the oil. Seems really simple, but I haven't tried it. I never remember the foil until I am already loosening the drain bolt. By that time, I'm too lazy to go get the foil.
