Spoon is definitely better in performance over HKS. It is louder but not "THAT" loud except if you hold the rpm at 6000rpm all the time.

Spoon N1 is designed for mid to high rpm ranges repsonse and power. HKS build good exhaust and they are design for low to mid-rpm ranges.

If you compare low end , HKS will be better. Two companies are targeting different power band so is your choice to chose which powerband is most suitable for your needs. IMO , I love mid-range response and acceleration so my vote goes to Spoon and Amuse R1000.

One last point, Spoon is much lighter than HKS so the power to weight ratio should make a difference.

That's why I sold my Spoon exhaust. I think we drive on streets more than on the track. Would you like to lose your low-end power?

A couple of thoughts from someone having experience with multiple exhaust systems...

1) Spoon is a very "purpose built" system. It was designed for the best all around performance. The sound (decibles) is not for everyone, that is certain but the sound is very visceral.

2) HKS is a very high quality product as well but more designed for looks than performance.

3) An exhaust will NEVER "gain" you HP, it will only minimize the loss.

5) Weight being the sole factor, the Spoon is about half (if not less) than the weight of the HKS.

6) Your choice of exhaust should come after you have decided your final goals. What I mean by this is will you be going forced induction? NA? If you're going FI, will you choose a turbo or a SC. These should all have heavy bearings on the descision.
