ok, speaking of this test pipe, I gather that it eliminates the cat. but have any of you had a check engine light because of it? I have an MR2 now that I took the cat off of and every now and the I get a CEL with a rich code. Just gathering as much info as I can, thanks

Hi SLO

Good points ...

"why wouldn't someone be concerened with add HP when they are modding their car and the two things they are trying to do is reduce weight and add HP"

If that is what they are doing then I guess you are correct.

What does surprise me is why they bother.

You can bolt on a turbo, s/c or nitro, or a set of jet engines under the back bumper - for what?

The faster you go the less pepl get to see you and your ride.

Drive slower, make more noise, have more fun ... that's what I do anyway
True...your right when you look at it that way ...the street persepective

I guess with me I just look at the race persepective when I'm buying mods, plus I make sure they look and sound (if applicable) good as well.
Forced Induction is just an opinion thing I guess..I still havn't decided myself...I need to ride in an SC'd S first...N/A 260whp would be pretty nice, and with A LOT of mods and money, and the right ones, it can be done, and would most likely be fair pretty well against an SC'd low boost S...luckily I don't even have the money to buy an intake right now, and wont for a while since I'm a poor college kid...but when I do, I'll know everything I want.

Yes, test pipe gets rid of the cat, and does set off the CEL on this car...unless you do what I told everybody to do...here's a link...basically a CEL fix for those with test pipe, and the cheapest, easiest, and MO best way to do it...
