Spoon CF Air Duct vs. CAI set up
#21
I ran the numbers in a post awhile back and the area in the IDI pinched area was less than the throttlebody venturi area by a small amount. The numbers were based on someone elses measurements so they could be way off. This being said, I have not noticed any decrease on top end performance with the IDI product and I frequently run it to 9200. What I have noticed is superior performance in traffic with no hesitation. I also observed it didn't seem to bother the service people at the dealer last time it was in.

Looking through ome other threads I see that the Injen, especially if insulated, can net a realistic 10rwhp. Seems to be the way to go for under $500. I just like the idea that there's no cutting involved with the CF air duct, but apparently there's cutting involve with the install of the injen. The stock intake system is already damn good, even better with that addon....damnit i'm right back where I started, indecisive and confused

Has anyone considered Comtech CAI?

Given that rainy conditions in South Florida and how streets get easily flooded in a matter of minutes of hard rain, I'm considering keeping my stock airbox or going with the Comtech CAI. The rest has the potential, even though slight, of getting water into the intake manifold and risk hydrolocking the engine.
