Default Spoon Baffled Oil Pan

What is the proper torque spec for the OEM oil pan bolt? What about on a spoon baffled oil pan?

I just had an incident yesterday and dam lucky. Was breaking in my new motor and after 600 kms the oil pan bolt vibrated right out! got lucky and was able to pull over with the oil pan still with 1/2 the oil left in it to drain out (I am running stiffer mounts and poly across the whole car). My mechanic says the factory spec is 12 ft/lbs which is nothing IMO.

Anyways what is recomended torque spec to use, one so I can do it proper and second so I can vent on him.

The spoon oil pan is a actually a factory oil pan, just modified in almost all cases. There shouldnt be any difference in bolt torque.

he sais he torqued it down to 12 ft/lbs (and he has my oem shop manual) but searching other threads on here says 30 ft/lbs. So trying to confirm which is the true torque spec.

Listed torque in my ESM = 12 Nm.
12 Nm = 8.9 lbf/ft
It's a M6 bolt.
Did you use the right liquid gasket?

8.9 ft lbs? that seems incredibly low since Integra/Civic spec is 33 lb-ft.

You are talking about to seal the oil pan. I will have to double check but that isnt where it leaked, the oil drain bolt came off completly.

Would it be harmful to use locktite on the oil drain bolt? Now im getting worried that I will have re-occuring issues with it and especially on the track.
