Speedometer gauge flicker

The alternator can be kind of a bitch to remove, and I sliced my thumb pretty bad getting at it. But me and a friend finished it eventually... took bout hour and a half.

I'd be glad to help you out since you are pretty close to me.

Honestly, the old alternator was fine when i replaced it.

There were no other symptoms, except for the gauge dimming.


I am not really sure if it would have left me stranded or not...

but replacing/rebuilding it fixed the dimming/flicker issue?

my s2k does it too. then one day i left the car on for half an hour with the ac and the lights on and the car turned off after 30 minutes.. i had to push start it.. the alternator is going bad.. my 07 has 45xxx .

i didn't replace my alternator - i just replaced the rectifier inside. dimming/flickering has been gone since then.
